Autumn Arciero

2010_WinnerThe North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA) Charlotte WISE Chapter announced today that Providence High School graduating senior Autumn Arciero is the 2010 recipient of the Kasie Capling Memorial Scholarship.

“We are pleased to recognize Autumn’s accomplishments by awarding her the scholarship and helping provide a foundation for her education as she pursues her degree in engineering and a career in medicine,” said Scotty Jackson, Scholarship Chair of NCTA Charlotte WISE.

Arciero, a 2010 graduate of Providence High School in Charlotte, plans to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the fall, where she will pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering.  In addition to excelling academically, Arciero is also the co-founder and owner of Just Clowning Around and has been involved with many volunteer organizations at school and in the community. She was Treasurer of the National Honor Society, Captain of the tennis team, Student Ambassador and Executive Board Secretary, Junior Class President, and was a member of the Mu Alpha Theta, Key Club, and Committed Young Christians.

WISE selected Candice Brown of Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology as the scholarship runner-up.  Brown received a laptop donated by Lenovo and software donated by Microsoft.  Brown will attend Saint Augustine College in Raleigh, in the Dual Degree Engineering program. With these two scholarships, WISE has awarded eight scholarships over the past few years.
