The NCTA WISE Kasie Capling Memorial Scholarship recognizes one Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools female senior who excels in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM).

The North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA) Charlotte WISE Chapter announced today that Providence High School graduating senior Autumn Arciero is the 2010 recipient of the Kasie Capling Memorial Scholarship.
“We are pleased to recognize Autumn’s accomplishments by awarding her the scholarship and helping provide a foundation for her education as she pursues her degree in engineering and a career in medicine,” said Scotty Jackson, Scholarship Chair of NCTA Charlotte WISE.

Charlotte WISE was founded in 2005 to help reverse the underrepresentation of women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Studies have found that fewer women are choosing STEM career paths.
